In Loves's Way

In twilight the water's edge bears no reflection,
nor does it ease the discomfort that bears heavily on one's heart, one that reminisces about days gone by.
Even the calm that it usually promises is intermittently
disturbed by the pebbles that get thrown into the water,
stirring up the restlessness one feels when it’s about missing someone.
... But then that pebble, which is so very significant of a sinking feeling, doesn't ever surface,
save to disappear into the murky depths of the water.
The sun sets and another day ends,
so far from where we once stood to where we are now.
Hopefully, the distance created by time will widen and respite will
follow, but for now, .......
