DESERT
ROSE, South Africa’s premier spiritual world music group, will launch their
latest CD, Welcome the Light, at the Novalis Ubuntu Institute at 8pm on
Saturday, 13 April 2013. The event will also be used to raise funds for their
upcoming trip to Singapore.
The
group was invited to perform at the annual “Tapestry
of Sacred Music Festival” at the world renowned Esplanade
Teatre in Singapore from 19 to 21 April 2013 but has to raise some funding
to cover part of the flight for Sisonke Godlo and
other sundry musicians’ costs.
Led
by Lynne Holmes-Ganief (music composer, director, keyboard and harp) and Yusuf
Ganief (group manager and lead vocalist) the group will include Nceba Gongxeka
(African indigenous multi-instrumentalist and vocalist), Sisonke Godlo (African
percussionist) and Michaela Holmes (multilingual vocalist).
The
evening’s performance will be a sneak preview of their Singapore performances
including their music from their latest CD, Welcome the Light. Click here for more info
